Matthijs Gerritsen is associated partner at Amsterdam Bureau for Economics. He is the founder and owner of the development agency Sofiris. Sofiris develops tailor-made data, analysis and web tools for governments and companies and for research and consultancy projects that the Amsterdam Economic Bureau and Sofiris are carrying out jointly. For example, the Amsterdam Economic Bureau and Sofiris have jointly developed the Caribbean Investment Climate Index (CICI) and the online tool Caribbean Analytics and Statistics (CAS), both launched in 2021.

Matthijs is an applied econometrician and specializes in making the story behind the numbers tangible; in models, dashboards and tools. He also has extensive experience in developing scenario analyses, such as stress tests and business case analyses.
