Koert van Buiren

Koert van Buiren is managing partner of Amsterdam Bureau for Economics (EBA) and lecturer at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). He has led professionals in business services in various management positions.

Koert has approximately 25 years of experience in economic research and consultancy in the Netherlands and abroad. He regularly acts as a specialist in competition cases, economic damage cases, state aid cases and public procurements. He conducts research for governments in the Netherlands and abroad and advises on a wide range of policy areas. He also acts as arbitrator in economic arbitration cases of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute.

With scientific and applied economic research, Koert specializes in the economy of Small Island Developing States (SIDS). He advises governments and companies in the Dutch Caribbean on economic growth policy, public finance, corporate finance, competition policy, economic regulation and corporate governance.

Koert studied economics at the University of Amsterdam and graduated (Msc) in (international) macro-economics. Afterwards, he specialized in competition economics and corporate finance. He previously worked in the corporate finance department of PwC and was director of SEO Amsterdam Economics. At the end of 2018 he founded Amsterdam Bureau for Economics.
