Sjoerd Boerdijk
Sjoerd joined Amsterdam Bureau for Economics in May 2020. As a consultant, he works on research and advisory projects, including projects in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. For example, he conducted research into the BES-fund in the Caribbean Netherlands and worked on the development of Caribbean Analytics and Statistics (CAS), a Caribbean database with social, economic and institutional indicators of Caribbean islands. Sjoerd was recently seconded to the Board of Financial Supervision (Cft) on behalf of EBA as a policy advisor for the BES-islands.
Sjoerd studied Economics at the Free University of Amsterdam and the University of Maastricht. After completing his bachelors, Sjoerd worked as a financial analyst at the company GroenLeven, market leader in developing solar energy systems in the Netherlands. As a financial analyst, Sjoerd has mainly been involved in the development of investment models and financial analyses, and acted as an important sparring partner for the board of directors.
